About Marjie's Place | ||||
![]() Marjie's Place is a recently renovated 2nd floor apartment in the heart of Whitby. Just a 2 minute stroll will take you to the West Cliff with it's attractions & amazing views out to sea and also within walking distance of the town and the historic cobbled Church St. The apartment is comfortably equipped with everything you could need during your stay including all kitchen equipment, bed linen and soft, fluffy towels. The furniture is all new and you can relax on the 2 seater sofa or the beautiful armchair, there are coffee tables and a bookcase full of books and games for you to enjoy during your stay. In the lounge is a 42" smart tv with Freesat and Netflix along with free Wi-Fi. The bedroom offers a comfortable double bed, wardrobe and a dressing table with comfortable bedroom chair. The bathroom, which has a walk in shower, is en-suite. If you open the door from the bedroom and step out onto the solid floor fire escape, you will be rewarded with the most beautiful view across the roof tops to the Abbey. Enjoy a glass of wine as night falls, or get a prime spot for the Illuminated Abbey in autumn, or the New Year or Regatta fireworks. Also on West Cliff is the Whitby Pavilion theatre and cinema - why not take in a show or a film during your stay. The flat is also within a few minutes walking distance of the shops on Skinner St (including the amazing Bothams Bakery), Flowergate and Baxtergate, which in turn leads to the famous swing bridge. Walk across and discover the historic, cobbled Church St with it's range of quirky, independent shops and tea rooms. If you want to take the car out then the delightful fishing villages of Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay and Runswick Bay are all within a 20 minute drive and well worth visiting. If you want to go a bit further afield then you have the rest of Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors at your fingertips. Street parking is available outside the flat and on the surrounding roads. It is a disc controlled zone, but we provide scratchcards to enable you to park free for the duration of your stay. Street parking is on a first come first basis. There is also a long stay car park just 2 minutes walk from the flat.
