At time of writing Covid-19/Coronavirus continues to understadably dominate the news, with a third UK-wide Lockdown currently in effect.
The tourism industry is again being hit hard. We have tried to gather links to the most reliable and accurate, up-to-date information to assist you in keeping your business afloat.
We continue to actively lobby local and national government regarding support (or lack of) for those affected in teh hoispitality industry. We also maintain our extremely high level of information output across out channels, intended to keep North Yorkshire in the public eye and one of the first places (if not the first place) that people look to when planning a break for when restrictions are lifted.
We fully believe that, as before, when this crisis is over there will be a surge of bookings as people search for holidays and it is very likely that the majority of those much-wanted holidays will be within the UK. If that is the case, then where better than North Yorkshire?
This is advice and commentary that we gave on TV (Look North) back in April, ahead of most other tourism organisations who followed a couple of months later and we feel it still holds true today.
As well as BBC Look North we have appeared on ITV Calendar and a regular guests on YO1 Radio.
Visiting North Yorkshire is not responsible for the content of external websites.
For those either currently visiting or intending to visit, we aim to be an excellent resource, with detailed listings for accommodation, places to eat and drink and things to see and do. We don't leave it there - whilst on holiday you could need a dentist, doctor, vet or optician. We offer details of where to find some of these too. In addition we provide weather information, transport options and even places you can recharge an electric vehicle.
The team behind Visiting North Yorkshire has 8 years experience promoting tourism in North Yorkshire, designing and maintaining dynamic websites, running successful and influential social media channels and producing & distributing quality tourism guides. In addition to this they have 25 years experience in the IT industry, giving them a complete sphere of expertise in online working - not only are they extremely proficient with "front end" technology that engages with the customer (websites, social media), but also the background infrastructure that supports and operates it. That expertise is available to draw on for Visiting North Yorkshire members, should they require technical advice or support.
