About The Roost Retreat | ||||
The Roost Retreat is a converted Orangery/Greenhouse and was beautifully restored in 2018 into a comfortable and cosy bolthole, with its own separate kitchenette and an allocated patio area. We are located just outside the Georgian market town of Bedale (Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales) and a short drive from Wensleydale, Masham, Richmond and the North Yorkshire Moors. The Wensleydale Heritage Railway is just across the road from The Roost, where steam trains run on selected days throughout the year. The stunning Yorkshire Coast is an hours' drive with the historical city of York close by. The Roost accommodates two guests and perfect for couples, solo travellers and business guests. We are adult only but do accept one infant in a travel cot. There is private and secure off-road parking, secure storage for motorcycles and bicycles, helmet, pannier storage and washing facilities. There is a separate outside kitchenette with a dining table and seating for two, which is exclusive use for guests. Facilities include a mini-fridge, kettle, coffee machine and toaster, crockery, cutlery, iron and ironing board. It is a lovely little private `snug' with an electric heater, curtain for added privacy and perfect for an romantic evening meal for two! Please note: there is no cooker top or oven in the kitchenette but there is an air fryer, microwave with grill and an egg cooker. Up to two small dogs OR one medium dog welcome (no larger than a Spaniel). Dog fee - £20 per stay (1 or two dogs). In the warm months, enjoy relaxing in your own patio area surrounded by trees, colourful flowers and watch the different wild birds, whilst chilling with a glass of wine. There is a barbeque, chairs, table and a fire pit where guests can relax and eat alfresco. |
